Participate in the South Central Regional

Check out our South Central Region Update.

On June 17-19, more than 300 athletes from Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi will converge in Tomball, Texas to battle it out for the top spots in the South Central region, and a chance to go Carson, Calif. in July to compete in the Games.

If you're not one of those athletes, you can still participate in South Central Regional! If you're a Level I, consider volunteering as a judge. It's a great way to participate and be a part of the action. Contact Brad McKee at brad@CrossFitHammond.com, if you're interested. If you're not a Level I or you're not comfortable judging other athletes, but you'd like to get involved, we need a bunch of volunteers, too! Pam Munson is coordinating the volunteers, and you can reach her at pam@crossfitchampions.com.

(Above is a photo of our athlete, Scott P aka "Silverback", who is currently ranked 23rd worldwide under the Masters 50-54 Sectionals Division)

Ok, Legs shutdown way too early on this one. My RHABDO from Friday is just now subsiding. I think I’m going to give it another go on Saturday.
Double D way to push on those pull-ups. MUCHO PROPS on calling your no reps. Above reproach!

G2G. Fun working with 8:30am, super fun timed warm up, finally found perfect time domain for me. Recommend doing 11.6 wod in small manageable chunks to minimize misreps, and keeping a good pace.
Very important, during mid wod… if you see the light, walk into the light;)
Great job Fam, Arnold. Thanks Scott.

  17. logan

    96 reps…
Cough is coming…I still just have the feeling I swallowed battery acid. I imagine cough will rear it head around bedtime…These open WODs have sucked just the right amount.

  18. The Nomad

I have the Fran cough too…
60 Rx – Thanks Todd for judging me again. Think I might try this one again. Might try the Logan method for C2B.
Congrats to ACF for advancing…I’ve enjoyed participating!

53 Rx! PR for C2B’s for me! Even Big Mike (CFW = CrossFit Wuse) was even surprised I did that many! Gotta love him regardless!!! Not sure what a smoker feels like when struggeling for air, but thought about smokers after that dry throat WOD! It was fun to finish the Open Sectionals at the Box with everyone. Congrats to ACF for Advancing….I too enjoyed it! You strong young bucks are awesome and keep it up!! I will continue to do what I do and drop in when I can!!!

The CrossFit hack, the FRAN cough, battery acid reflux…. Whatever it’s called, it ain’t goin away.
    80 reps, but i think I can get 90 with a different approach…
I feel like I should do it again (yes, I really said it), but I tore the bleep out of my hand on c2b. We’ll see.
Thanks Jim and scott, for keeping me going on it today.

  22. G

78 (Rx) – could have, should have, would have….I do love Fran! The Fran cough wasn’t that bad and it’s all gone now…will definitely try this one again on Saturday.
Thanks for judging Will, 2 no reps on C2B. Meet the goal on that in order to not have too many futile efforts there.
Great energy, cheer and push, guys!

  23. G

W O W, the hard work was so rewarding to see. Chest to bar is hard! Give yourselves a big pat in the back on this…there is nothing easy about CrossFit…as a matter of fact it’s not supposed to be easy! Way to go and all the ACF coaches are proud of every one of you. For the others that just did regular pull-ups, you still got a good training effect (Fran style).
@Steph, great job on mentally battling through the fact of not being able to breathe!
@Fam, yeah those things along with NuXplode, other similar products mess up your heart rate and taxes your liver. You are better off drinking coffee or espresso.
@MattH, good improvement on the second round.
@Macho, hope the quad pain subsides soon.
Looks like there will be a big crowd on Saturday.
